Tyre details:

The Dunlop SP SportMaxx RT is installed as an original part in the Mercedes C63 AMG and C63 T.

The Dunlop SP SportMaxx RT is a tyre designed for demanding drivers, who value outstanding quality and uncompromising performance in any situation. The model is designed for fast sports cars and limousines with a high performance engine. The tyre's asymmetric tread pattern gives it excellent performance specifications on both wet and dry surfaces. The central rib improves driving precision, while the asymmetric layout of the grooves maintains grip even on very wet roads. This all means that cars that use the Dunlop SP SportMaxx RT perform exceptionally well and dynamically not only on straight roads but also on corners and during fast, precision manoeuvres. The smooth tread profile increases the contact area between the tyre and the road, ensuring excellent grip and increased steering precision.

The tyre comes with a rim protection system – a rubber border protecting the rim against damage, which means that drivers using Dunlop SP SportMaxx RT tyres do not have to worry about damage to the rim. The addition of silica compounds to the rubber used has increased acceleration and reduced rolling resistance, resulting in lower fuel consumption. The tyre has been designed for those who favour a sporty and dynamic style of driving, which is why the development of a well-balanced compound was a key issue when creating this model. Better control on corners, a fast response to steering movements and excellent performance on wet surfaces all mean that the Dunlop SP SportMaxx RT is ideal for drivers who enjoy a fast and sporty style of driving.

Dunlop's history stretches back to 1888 when John Dunlop founded and patented the first pneumatic tyre. The British brand is currently part of the Goodyear group, which manages brands such as: Fulda, Sava and Arrowspeed. Apart from the production of tyres for passenger cars, the company also releases 300,000 special tyres for racing cars each year.

I drive about 35 thousand miles a year on my car regardless of the road conditions so I necessarily need good tyres. Up to now I mainly used products of highest brands like Michelin, Pirelli and Goodyear. I need to add that I an aggressive driving style. In the case of Dunlop SP SportMaxx RT tyres, I decided to buy them since the tyres have very good reviews and even the price is tinteresting in relation to the above mentioned brands. I am not disappointed, and indeed I am very much pleased with my choice. When the winter seasons will come I’m going to buy tyres of the same manufacturer, Dunlop of course. Dunlop SP SportMaxx RT tyres are very quiet, the grip is good on cornering, on wet and dry roads. Very well water drainage. Very important element for me is a tread wear and for now it is really ok. Visually, it looks great, I think that the tread pattern is suitable for either sports cars and limousines. I would recommend - a great compromise between quality and price. Read more Collapse

Generally speaking Dunlop SP SportMaxx RT tyres are worth recommending. First of all, no run-out, no vibrations. I had no problems with fitting or balancing. I can say that the grip is amazing both on dry and wet surfaces. Even when I drive my car in the rain using Dunlop SP SportMaxx RT tyres there was no skids, skewing or even shaking of the steering wheel. Faster and irregular tyre wear? No with these tyres! :) I’m aware of the fact that my opinion is so good that some of the reader may not believe me. But I simply checked the tyres before I bought them and that’s why I’m so sure of my choice and so satisfied. Before I purchased Dunlop SP SportMaxx RT tyres, I compared prices, I thought about my needs. I also searched the Internet and read many opinions of other customers as well as many rankings and tyre test. After all that I’m pretty sure what I’m saying. Summing up, the tyres very much recommend, I would buy them again and I will be recommending them to my friends Read more Collapse

I am very positively surprised by Dunlop SP SportMaxx RT tyres. I confess that I already used Dunlop in the past so I had pretty high requirements. The tyres are relatively quiet in my car. They look very good – they also work great with rim protective function. After about 50 miles in different conditions, I can responsibly say that the behaviour on wet surfaces is sensational. I can easily control the car even with my dynamic driving in the pouring rain. I did not feel so confident earlier using different tyres. Grip on dry roads is simply amazing. I drove the motorway during storm with a high speed and the car was still stable. Strong blast of wind from outside noise barriers made the car move a little but the steering wheel did not move at all and the driving direction was the same. There are definitely some disadvantages, however, I would say the tyres are worth buying anyway. Generally, I recommend Dunlop SP SportMaxx RT tyres with a clear conscience. Read more Collapse

These tyres are excellent - the low rolling noise is particularly noteworthy. I had Kumhos previously that suffered from sawtoothing (A feature of the tyre wear and not car alignment), so it was a night and day difference. Grip in the dry is as good as or better than any other tyres I've used. The wet grip is exceptional - certainly a match for tyres costing a lot more. I do a lot of 100 km/h driving with no traffic on badly surfaced twisty Irish roads, so the cornering performance gets pushed as I can hold my speed on the bends when not being slowed by traffic. This tyre has given no surprises in 15 000 km so far as the grip limit is past anything I'm willing to push it to on a public road. the tyre extends enough past the edges of my alloys that they don't get scratched the odd time I hit something unexpected too. Get a 92 or 94 load rating for the Skoda Superb, the more commonly available 91 isn't high enough. Read more Collapse

I bought Dunlop SP SportMaxx RT in April for my BMW E39 530d. The tyres are great! Braking on dry and wet is phenomenal. I realized it when I started braking on the road in the rain in front of the lights. The driver, who was some distance behind me definitely had much more braking distance. I felt safe during this situation. I did not expect such a braking force in the rain. During cornering the tyres behave the way driver is able to predict everything. I didn’t have any problems with losing a grip on dry or wet and, like I already said, during braking. As to the fuel consumption, it also seems to me to be the most acceptable, even though I had read some opinions about a fairly rapid tread wear. I cannot confirm such opinions! I know what I’m saying cause I use the tyres a lot and my driving can be abnormally aggressive. I honestly recommend you Dunlop SP SportMaxx RT tyres as in my opinion they are fantastic. I drove approximately 200 miles using Dunlop SP SportMaxx RT tyres. My style of driving is quiet diversified, from calm to very dynamic (dynamic but not aggressive). As for the moment I haven’t noticed any shortcomings of the tyres. As to the noise level, I would say it is really low so I’m very satisfied. Very well behaviour on dry surfaces, no slips during cornering at reasonable speed. The grip is also good on wet roads. I think the good grip is on the biggest advantages of the tyres. Another thing is excellent drainage, I have never experienced aquaplaning using Dunlop SP SportMaxx RT tyres. As to the tyres’ wear I did not use them long enough to say much about this, however, from what I see it will be okay. I believe that resistance to damage is also satisfactory. Generally speaking, I am satisfied with the tyres and I have nothing bad to say about them. In short, tyres highly recommended. Read more Collapse

The correct price/quality ratio, durability (abrasion) in the price - it is not a soft anvil, easy to store alternately, fuel consumption also sensational and driving on a wet surface (really, you can back up). The tyres have a big disadvantage - they quickly wear off - the course from south to north and back, the rest on the city - I noticed that there are no more than two millimeters of tyres. Maybe I was driving too aggressively, but on previous Bridgestone Turanza mounted on the same axle I had a different impression - it was very hard, better grip and when it comes to abrasion twice slower than on Dunlop. On the second axis there were hankook's evo 2 - collided with Dunlop and were in the middle class. In general, I think the tyre deserves to be acknowledged that we have something for excellent grip on the wet, but this ensures faster tyre wear. Read more Collapse

I drive a lot and quickly, mainly on German highways, in various weather conditions. The car on which they are installed has 135mph, but it doesn't matter, because it doesn't make the slightest impression on the tyres - the car drives literally like on a string and after warming you can really splurge. I used Pirelli Pzero NeroGT, Dunslop blueResponse, Continental ContiSportContact 5 before and I will say one thing - all of these tyres were very good, but the MAXX RT has something that made me feel that the best of their qualities were taken from each of them. The tyres are moderately tearing, they are very quiet, do not beat, driving them is a pure, real pleasure. Tyres are completely worth the price, they do not wear out as quickly as ContiSportContact5, but they are quieter and do not interfere with traction. Read more Collapse

I bought Dunlop SP SportMaxx RT 235/45 R17 94 Y this year and I have not done a lot of miles on them, but I can already tell that the price I spent, although not small, was very much worth it. Previously, I had NEXEN tyres in the same size and driving on them was like they were made of wood and I thought my power steering was broken. The new ones are very quiet, grip the road very well and most importantly you can see a colossal difference in fuel consumption to the previous ones. It has dropped by 1 litre/100km. I am amazed. Thus, they pay for themselves with savings. They are soft rubbers, so they will wear faster, but it is still worth it because of the fuel savings. In general, I chose them after having previously bought the Dunlop winter tyres, which were just as sensational and quiet as the summer tyres. Read more Collapse

I have them on two cars - 2x noise (110mph + 150 hp + 400Nm and 350Nm) and... much better traction (the difference is even greater between dry and wet) than the factory Conti Sport. Of course, you can not fool that such a pair on wet asphalt has no problems with traction in the acute phase, adding gas to lower speeds, but we know that there are no miracles. It's very quiet inside, which is a big plus for me. Sustainable development? In the case of the unknown – I've done 18500 miles on one car, and 9000 miles on the other and I think that I even drive a little bit more on them. I really do not know what a failure is, but because there are no problems with them, I choose them. Is it worth buying them? In my opinion, yes. If you drive much, you probably buy them sooner or later or a successor... Read more Collapse

So far, I've been driving on Bridgeston Potenza. It was an excellent tyre, but... once made 630 degrees on a wet coil, do not drive faster than usual. Maybe it was slippery asphalt, maybe something was knocked down, but I decided to check a different tyre. Dunlop convinced me as was one of the pilots' sport advisers. I recommend SP Sport Maxx RT for an aggressive person and very quick driving style. It is not cheap, there is not much tread, but the quality has to cost. Exceptionally rainy summer gave a lot of opportunity to try grip on wet turns. The car sticks to the road like glued and a great inhibits. What do you want from a sports tyre? Maybe a little less good shots (with the maximum use of engine power) in the wet, but no more than the competition. Read more Collapse

The tyre is excellent, great in the dry and even better in the wet. The distance driven to date is about 18000, it absorbs bumps very well, it is very well made (no vibration), in wet it takes a lot of effort to lose grip, braking is sensational. The only thing I can complain about is the noise at temperatures of approx. 12-13 °C. At temperatures above ...and especially above 20 °C it is quiet. So far, abrasion resistance is normal, I think that for about 50-60 thousand kilometres it should be enough. I would highly recommend it to those looking for a compromise between excellent grip and comfort... and to those who still struggle with micro vibrations resulting from poor workmanship of even branded tyres (Bridgestone) I recommend Read more Collapse

I have been using the tyres since April (4 months), they are certainly very quiet, much quieter than the previous Michelin Pilot Sport PS2. They look good on the rim, although maybe not as massive as the predecessor. As for the ride, braking is excellent, even on wet pavement. Puddles, even those quite deep, can be negotiated without jerking the steering wheel. The only drawback is that the tyre slips when pulling away aggressively. With considerable engine power, the traction control system is activated quite often; the Michelin Sport coped with this a little better. As for the tread wear, I can't say, after about 5000 km the tyre still looks like new. Apparently, they wear quickly, so we will see. All in all, I recommend the tyres. Read more Collapse

I have been driving on 205/55 r16 tyres since May this year. Noticeably improved traction and handling of the car. The previous tyres were Goodyears which I will certainly not be returning to. The current Dunlop sport max rt is characterised by a rather soft compound which sticks the car to the road well, rolling resistance is higher but grip has increased significantly. It's hard to lose grip when starting off and, if you do, the tyre quickly builds up the right temperature and stops spinning. The sidewalls are relatively hard, but without exaggeration they are perfect. If you're looking for a tyre with extra grip, these Dunlop tyres are a good choice, both on dry and wet surfaces. It is not a slick, but it is enough ;) Read more Collapse

Until now I have been using Michelin Pilot tyres, which made quite a lot of noise. Before buying, I looked through the internet forums and opinions on summer tyres with an emphasis on performance, durability and value for money. The choice was Dunlop. After the change, the car became quieter. Since I drive quite dynamically, which is necessary in the city, the Michelins sometimes lost their grip when I started moving. It hasn't happened to the Dunlop yet. The low profile of the tyres forces you to be careful of potholes if you don't want to straighten your rims. The soft rubber in these tyres is said to wear quickly, but I can't judge this yet due to the low mileage. In any case worth the price and recommended. Read more Collapse

I had contact with the tyres for about 2,500 miles, and then sold the whole wheels. The first feature is that it impresses with light rolling, low noise and high comfort, despite the relatively low profile 225/45. These features unfortunately reflect the precision of driving - the tyre has smooth sides and floats in fast corners. Grip on dry and wet roads is first class, which gives a very reliable result. Unfortunately, low durability is unacceptable to me, especially in a car with high torque. Even in such a short distance I noticed a significant loss of tread - tyres to over 10,000 miles of dynamic driving. Performance shows low durability and makes me not to buy them anymore. The tyres are not the cheapest considering this size. I previously rode on Bridgestone Turanza T001 and compared to them Dunlop comes out better. The biggest difference is when driving/braking on slippery surfaces. The rainy weather was the most important test at this point. Observing the behaviour of the tyres (I have had them for six months and have done 10kkm) so far there are no signs of abrasion. The Bridgestones, by comparison, wore out very quickly, and after 3 summer seasons and a total mileage of 50kkm (summer+winter, so interchangeable with winter tyres) and the same driving style, the tyres were no longer usable. I'm betting that with the Dunlops it will be better. Read more Collapse

They grip the road in a great way on twisty mountain roads, very well on winding roads where you travel at high speeds, resistance on highways is very good, in a word, a good tyre, but ONLY on tarmac. Previously, I had Conti Sport 3, they were great both on asphalt and on gravel or dirt roads. These Dunlop tyres dance like stars on dirt roads. They are made of a very soft compound, which makes them wear quickly, but they stick nicely on asphalt - something for something. For the future, I'll be looking for tyres that are effective in the woods or on country roads and at the same time provide excellent performance on asphalt - in my opinion, the Conti sport 3 were just that... I would recommend these tyres to anyone who has not yet made up their mind. I have only driven less than 5,000 km, but at the first bends you could see how the car behaves. The car runs like on rails, definitely the best tyres in this class, and I have driven on plenty of premium tyres. I have nothing to complain about, they also perform very well in the wet. I won't even bother experimenting next time as I don't think any tyre is better than the SportMax RT. I will go back to it for sure if I wear these out. I give my word for those who are undecided, buy them because you cannot say a bad word about these tyres, on the contrary, you can praise them for hours :) Read more Collapse

The tyres are really good I can recommend them to everyone a big plus is the affordable price, they are very quiet, great grip on the road in all conditions whether it's rain or sunshine. They could be a little harder - the softness is noticeable on the road when driving but it is a matter of getting used to it, very nice sporty tread, the edge of the tyre could be with this type of "sporty" tyres flatter, less ballooned, but it is a detail aesthetic issue. I have shopped at Oponeo once, the service, advice, delivery time something wonderful! You can feel that there are professionals working there!!!! Overall, I am very pleased with the Dunlop tyres I purchased. Read more Collapse

I used Dunlop before my first BMW. My first three projectors were TRX wheels, so that his tire choice was very limited. In 2000, I bought a 740i with standard wheels and later another 735i and Continental used until I need two back last year. I bought Continental for better wet grip because I live in Manchester and because I am unlikely to reach the limits of my tires in the dry, but it is very easy to get in the wet. . I was surprised that the Dunlop had a better wet grip, less noise and fuel consumption less than the Continental, but surprisingly were much less expensive. I had the tires for a year now and am very satisfied with their performance. Read more Collapse

The tyre has very good properties on both dry and wet asphalt, also very good in ruts, but this is also a question of the 205/55 R16 profile. On a 40 profile it would probably be worse. I have heard that these tyres wear quite quickly. Something for something - we have really exemplary grip but I suspect a soft compound prone to wear. I haven't rated this point as I personally haven't done enough mileage - I think about 20k km is about the right distance to rate this. I for one am very satisfied and consider the choice to be a very good one, and in my experience with seasonal tyres it is an excellent choice for the money. The tyre is worth more. Braking on wet surfaces - so good that for the first two weeks of driving I stopped at traffic lights too early and had to pull over :) Braking on dry pavement also excellent. Better than the Uniroyal Rainsport 3. No breakdowns on long distances - 2x1350km trip to Croatia, at speeds ~ 130-150 km/h, two 15-minute stops just to refuel. A total of 2700km and 24 hours of driving - Quiet, calm, no disturbing behaviour. I don't rate the bump damping as I drive on a fairly firm suspension, so I wouldn't want to underestimate. Other than that, very good handling in corners, full control of the car, I sincerely recommend it. Read more Collapse

I chose the tyre because of its good test results. In fact, according to the parameters evaluated (grip, rolling resistance), the tyre performs very well. The rubber compound is very soft, which means that it has very good traction on wet asphalt, but at the expense of rapid wear. The tyre is light, which probably has an impact on fuel consumption. It also has very soft sidewalls, which makes for a comfortable ride, but unfortunately it has very poor steering response. Due to the very poor steering characteristics, I now have Bridgestone Potenza RE050A, which is harder and stiffer on the sides and therefore very responsive. Read more Collapse

Very good tyre. I was never surprised with unexpected behavior on the road. I drove on them at a speed of around 190 km / h and the journey was reliable and pleasant. As for noise the ideal speed is 140 km / h or highway. The car is just quiet. I only rode one season, so it's hard for me to comment on sustainability. After about 15 to 18,000 I don't see anything alarming. A strange thing – they have two deep grooves across the center of the profile. This is probably the only fault; They're not cheap - but it's probably worth spending some money on an important things I would recommend. Read more Collapse

I got them with a new Skoda Octavia, I am driving on them for the 3rd season. The tyre makes up for what Skoda messed up with the rear suspension (beam instead of multi-link). Comfort on potholes is questionable with this profile, but on motorways and motorways it is great - quiet, holds the road well. After 3 seasons, if you press well when starting on wet or very hot asphalt, it can squeak. I haven't tried it in winter and don't intend to, as the tread is typically for summer and high speeds. When it's time to change, I think I'll go with Dunlops. Read more Collapse

Quiet, even very quiet. It was the noise and rolling resistance that I was most afraid of, but my fears turned out to be unfounded. Since I got them I can only hear the air near the windows. As for me it is a revelation. I had a chance to ride them on the track and after warming up they hold re-weather. I am also very satisfied with them on a daily basis. I didn't drive much in the wet this summer, the weather took me by surprise :) but I didn't notice anything alarming. To those who are wondering - I recommend without a moment's hesitation. These are basically the tyres I was looking for. Very reliable, both on wet and dry surfaces, and most importantly for me by far the quietest. I have previously used Michelin Primacy 3, Continental Sport Contact 3 and Sport Contact 5 and Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric2. To be honest, the Goodyears seemed to me to be slightly better in the wet, and all of the above tyres apart from the Sport Contact 3 wore out slower, but the Dunlop's quietness compensates for everything... This is important because 245/45 R18 tyres can make a lot of noise... Read more Collapse

In my opinion the tyres are great, they need some warming up at the beginning of the journey, when they are cold they don't grip the road very well (when driving a bit more aggressively) but when they are warm they are a masterpiece. I can't tell you how they perform in rain because I don't know how it happened, but I drove on a wet road maybe twice and I didn't get a chance to play with the car because I was on a normal road with other users. I would highly recommend these tyres as they are quiet and have great grip on the tarmac Read more Collapse

I've been thinking about tyres for a long time. The main criteria I considered were driving comfort, performance in the wet... any tyre will do in the dry. I read millions of tests and user reviews. I decided on the Dunlop Sport Maxx RT and I can honestly say I hit the jackpot! It's brilliant in the dry, and in the wet it's on a par with rain tyres. Not cheap but worth every penny. I can recommend it with a clear conscience. The mileage is low at the moment but I hope that my opinion of them will not change over time. Read more Collapse

I purchased my tyres over six months ago. I have to admit that I was afraid of the DUNLOP brand due to the rumours I heard about their fast abrasion. I was pleasantly surprised as the wear is standard. The tyre also has excellent cornering grip when driven hard, both on dry and wet roads. The tyre is also very quiet, which has a direct impact on driving comfort. If you are looking for a tyre with a sporty edge, this is the tyre for you. I recommend the tyre as much as possible, I have been using it since the beginning of the season, I have already entered bends a few times on bends and the tyre is holding up well, in dry conditions 150 horsepower and 320 Nm is not able to break it so it is a revelation!!!!!! I do not know how to do in the wet, because I rather not test it here, common sense suggests that you always need a safety margin, but I think it can also handle. It is certainly quiet and has good damping, if possible on the profile 45:) Read more Collapse

The tyre is really excellent in almost every aspect. No problems in wet, no problem on dry asphalt, no impression on this tyre. Sharp bends and gaps are great, my alfa ran like a string. I am very satisfied with it, there were moments of emergency braking in the dry, but fortunately the tyres did not fail, one time during a fast curve the car skidded slightly, but I suspect that this is due to the weight distribution rather than the tyres. I can not assess the tyre from the point of view of wet roads, because it happened to drive in the rain, but without "fireworks".
