Technical description: The Goodyear Efficientgrip Performance is part of the Goodyear Efficientgrip range, a range that has proved popular with drivers.
The Goodyear Efficientgrip Performance has been given an "A" rating for grip on wet roads. Compared with other tyres, the model offers 2 metres (8%) shorter braking distances on wet roads and 3% shorter braking distances on dry surfaces. It also guarantees 18% lower fuel consumption.
Short braking distances. Thanks to its special ActiveBraking technology, the tyre is noted for its larger contact area with the ground, resulting in much shorter braking distances compared with tyres from rival brands. Specifically, the tyre offers 8% (2 metres) shorter braking distances on wet roads and 3% shorter braking distances on dry roads.
Grip on wet roads. The asymmetric tread pattern with wide longitudinal grooves and transverse grooves ensures optimal performance on wet surfaces. High specifications in this category are confirmed by the labels on most tyre sizes.
Tyre noise is also minimised. Tests carried out for labelling purposes found that the tyre's results were among the best out of all tyres with the same dimensions as the Goodyear Efficientgrip Performance.
Savings. Excellent driveability does not prevent the tyre from also being cost effective. This is all thanks to its WearControl technology, which ensures an effective distribution of the individual tread elements, as well as excellent performance on wet surfaces and reduced rolling resistance.
In order to make the tyre more cost-effective, the manufacturer opted for a special rubber compound which, compared with other materials, uses less energy, which in turn reduces the car's fuel consumption. This technology makes the Goodyear Efficientgrip Performance the ideal choice for drivers looking for high performance specifications, driver comfort and steering precision
In tests carried out by ADAC in 2015, Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance came in 2nd place for size 185/60 R14 and 205/55 R16 tyres.
