The presented tyre is marked with 3PMSF symbol (Three Peak Mountain Snow Flake). It means that the tyre meets the EU requirements for winter tyres. The symbol is awarded after thorough tests of a tyre model in terms of snow grip.
The design and performance of the Firestone WINTERHAWK tyre are ideally suited to the most challenging of winter conditions on the road. The tyre model is manufactured using a special silica-enhanced rubber compound. This combination ensures that the tyre maintains outstanding flexibility regardless of outdoor temperatures. The choice of material also plays a significant role in the model's outstanding grip and its long service life. The sophisticated directional tread design provides outstanding protection, in particular against hazards presented by wet and slushy surfaces. Each individual feature of this directional pattern has a carefully designed function, which it performs with resounding success. One of these features is the dense network of blades arranged over the entire surface of the tyre. This network manages to achieve outstanding protection against loss of grip on slippery surfaces, and thus ensures that the driver is able to maintain excellent control excellent control of the vehicle in conditions of this kind. The tyre behaves faultlessly when starting, braking and cornering. The manufacturer also put a great deal of thought into the steering characteristics of the Firestone Winterhawk tyre, resulting in the use of sturdy blocks in the shoulder tread and reinforcement of the tyre's entire sidewall. The wide circumferential grooves paired with transverse grooves are a further key design element of the directional tread. They ensure the rapid and efficient evacuation of water and slush by the tyre during thawing periods.
Firestone has been a stalwart of the tyre industry since 1905, when the company was founded by Harvey S. Firestone. In 1988 it was acquired by Bridgestone, one of the largest tyre manufacturers in the world. The US brand Firestone was the first mass manufacturer of tyres in the world and played a pioneering role by supplying tyres to be used as original equipment on Ford cars. Firestone-branded tyres are regarded as mid-market products.

I have these tires on the car for a few months and I am happy with them. They are noisy. These are the soft tires. Badziej check on snow, ice and slush on wet asphalt. I recently had an emergency braking when a rude German driving his BMW 5 zdjeździe me how to overflights slope and curve. I Absu and slid a few feet to avoid glare on the side. I stopped about 1 m in front of the car. But it was cold and wet from the rain long. Winter came true - the tires are in their element! Do you feel that the mixture is very soft - a small car driving car for dynamic driving on hard surfaces. I wonder how the durability and abrasion ... Anyway, I do not regret that I bought Firestony Winterhawk - I had to buy Krisstal Fulda Montero II, but did not have the tires to the speed that I was interested. I compare these tires Barum Polaris winter tyres - are a bit better, but Barumy probably better behaved on the pavement without snow and rain. While this may be an illusion, because the last round very fast and perform decently Firestony my orders ;-) Greetings to all readers of this opinion :-)
Tire 165/70 R13 79T was also good for two years from the date of purchase, but no revelations. I did not match the tires of this model is that the emergency brake is very easy to lock the wheels on wet asphalt in the fall - winter! A massacre! It is difficult to detect when the wheels start to lock (I Absu). I was not so I Barum Polaris nor Kristal Fulda Montero II! After third year handle even more acute in the corners in the snow and very difficult to move in the snow kopnym. OK the first two seasons, but the third showed a poor properties season rubber - Firestone compounds because the tread still 7 mm thick! Of course, the tires "spent" driving course on improving Tor missiles Wroclaw in February 2010 in kopnym snow. Correct, but no revelations. It is difficult to move, difficult to slow down. Auto Skoda Felicia II 1.6 75HP 135Nm without ABS. BDB braking system. Tires are unlikely to recommend. This season, I bought winter tires Vredestein Snowtrac 3, and I hope this will be the best winter tires I had ;-) Be the first during the winter ;-)
I wonder how these opinions "great revelation", etc? Sam guided by the opinions here and we actually expect revelations, and probably can not be seen (or maybe it's just a lack of winter? ;). I compare with the Pirelli Toyota Yaris and I must admit that Pirelki were certainly better - kept the snow, ran great during the summer (yes, I rode on them 30 years because I do not want to change) and Winterhawki a little bit in the snow (not Well, it was slippery in addition to ABS and Yariska Nubira is not). In my subjective and unprofessional, but honest opinion, the tire has no visible defects, but there is no great revelation - is probably good value for money, but to be honest I rolled for the year Kormoranach and did not notice any significant difference, but again, other self - Matiz. Now that I bought Firehawki also guided by the opinions here. Let's see if that does not impress me in the future, I chose high-end equipment and stop reading reviews. Greetings to all the honest assessment.
I bought these tyres about 3 years ago. Previously, I have not used winter tyres universal rolled. But you know how something is for everything that is good for nothing. Overall tyres very cool and stylish in the snow, although disperse water and slush. Know hockey is not strong, but if anyone has any tips or chains. Cool remove irregularities, but due to the fact that the wheels are small enough (175/70 R13) no revelation. I would give them positive. Preferred style of quiet ride, but sometimes it is more difficult to slow down, to be honest with stops in place. When it comes to the status of Randy after three years of minimal use. Debica Fridge compared hmm I think that there is nothing comparable: D definitely different class :) I highly recommend it. For a small compact cars are great :) I think they are better than the Fulda Montero my parents in the car, but this is only my subjective opinion ;) With this money, you will not find better ;)
After traveling 4.000 km on the tires in the last two months, I write about to send them a few words. First, stick to perfectly dry, wet, snowy and quite good (for tires) on ice. The rain tires can be heard hissing (whistling), but it also depends on the type of surface (smooth asphalt, bleached, etc..) I objected to rolling resistance, which clearly feel when changing summer tires. During the summer, I burned about 4.3 l/100 km my car, and on winter burns km 5l/100 about (even if you have to take a heavy patch on driving conditions). Suppose that the engines with more power difference during combustion will not be so great. Furthermore tyres are quiet (quieter than my summer, not to mention whistling in the rain ;)) and very soft (less inequality by pester). I do not know if I buy it again, because in a few years, can not be the model or will be better. But if I had to buy at the moment, it would probably buy these tyres.
