Jeep Wrangler

The Jeep Wrangler is a legendary series of off-road vehicles manufactured by Jeep, renowned for its rugged capability and iconic design. The first generation debuted in 1987 as the successor to the highly regarded CJ series. Developed by American Motors Corporation, the Wrangler was designed to offer improved comfort on paved roads, aiming to appeal to a broader customer base. The first-generation YJ retained a suspension system similar to the CJ but was refined for better handling. Its body design closely resembled its predecessor, with notable updates such as a larger windshield and wipers positioned at a 45° angle. The YJ was powered by a 2.5-liter AMC inline engine producing between 118 and 121 horsepower, along with available 4.0- and 4.2-liter engine options. Special editions like the YJ Wrangler Islander (1988–1993) featured unique color schemes, a larger fuel tank, distinctive wheels, and leather upholstery. The Wrangler Renegade (1991–1994) came equipped with off-road shock absorbers, fog lights, power steering, and an upgraded fuel tank. The second generation, known as the TJ, was produced from 1996 to 2006. It marked a return to the classic round headlights reminiscent of the CJ series and was powered by the same 4.0-liter engine found in the Cherokee and Grand Cherokee. In 2003, Jeep introduced the TJ Rubicon, equipped with heavy-duty Dana 44 front and rear axles and limited-slip differentials for enhanced off-road performance. The current production model is the Wrangler JK, launched in 2007. This generation was completely redesigned, offering improved on-road comfort while maintaining the Wrangler’s legendary off-road prowess.
