The Renault Kangoo is a versatile passenger and commercial van produced by the French automaker Renault Group. First introduced in December 1997, the Kangoo entered a competitive market, following the earlier launches of rivals like the Citroën Berlingo and Peugeot Partner. Despite initial concerns, the Kangoo quickly established itself as a segment leader, thanks to its innovative blend of passenger car comfort and delivery van practicality.
This spacious and comfortable vehicle proved ideal for both urban commuting and longer journeys. The Kangoo is offered in various trim levels, including the extended Maxi version, the practical Express, and the rugged off-road Pampa.
The second generation of the Renault Kangoo debuted in 2008, featuring a more modern design and improved functionality. It is available as a passenger model under the name Renault Kangoo Minivan, as well as in multiple commercial variants. Engine options include 1.6-litre petrol units in both 8-valve and 16-valve configurations, along with a fuel-efficient 1.5 dCi diesel engine. The updated model incorporates several technical innovations and enhanced safety features, earning it a four-star rating in Euro NCAP crash tests.
In 2011, the Kangoo received a facelift, giving it a refreshed and more contemporary appearance. That same year, Renault introduced the all-electric Renault Kangoo Express Z.E., offering an eco-friendly alternative with a manufacturer-claimed range of up to 160 kilometres.
Factory tyre sizes for the Renault Kangoo include 165/70 R13, 175/65 R14, 185/65 R15, and 195/65 R15. Optional tyre sizes include 165/70 R14 and 165/75 R14.
