The Suzuki Jimny is a compact SUV with a rich heritage dating back to 1970. The first model, the LJ10, was developed by the Japanese automaker Suzuki, following the acquisition of the HopeStar ON360. The Jimny marked Suzuki's debut in the four-wheel-drive off-road segment. Over the years, the lineup expanded with models such as the LJ20, LJ50, and LJ80.
In 1997, Suzuki introduced a new generation of the Jimny, which made its global debut at the Tokyo Motor Show and was later showcased at the 1998 Paris Motor Show. Sales in Europe began in 1999. The model was offered with a range of petrol engines, including a 0.7L 12V Turbo (64 hp), 1.3L 16V (80 hp), and 1.3L 16V (85 hp), as well as diesel options like the 1.3 DDiS 4x4 (70 hp) and 1.5 TD (86 hp).
In the European market, the Suzuki Jimny is available in two trim levels: JX and JLX, both offered with either a hard top or canvas top. The higher-end JLX trim includes features such as roof rails, power steering, electric windows, electronically adjustable side mirrors, and enhanced interior equipment. Both trims are available with a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmission.
Renowned for its off-road capabilities, the Jimny also delivers a comfortable driving experience in urban environments.
The Suzuki Jimny is factory-equipped with 205/70 R15 tyres, with Bridgestone tyres provided as standard.
