BMW 5 Series

The BMW 5 Series is a premium mid-size car that has been in continuous production since 1972. Available in both saloon and touring (estate) body styles, it stands as the brand’s second best-selling model and is responsible for generating approximately 50% of BMW’s total revenue. The first generation, the E12, debuted in the early 1970s and was succeeded in 1982 by the E28, which featured a refined evolution of the original design. One of the most acclaimed versions was the E34, known for its modern styling and advanced safety features for its time. Its successor, the E39, achieved even greater success, thanks to its completely redesigned exterior and the introduction of numerous innovative technologies. In 2003, BMW launched the fifth generation, the E60, which introduced a bold new design language. Although the styling received mixed reviews, the E60 became the best-selling 5 Series model to date. Technologically, it marked a significant advancement over the E39, notably with the introduction of the iDrive system, which centralized control of many vehicle functions. The sixth generation, known as the F10, is built on the platform of the F01 7 Series. While less controversial in design than its predecessor, the F10 maintains a dynamic and modern appearance, characterized by sleek lines and sharp creases that align with BMW’s current design philosophy.

Depending on the trim level and model variant, the BMW 5 Series comes equipped with factory-fitted tyres in the following sizes: 205/65 R15, 225/50 R17, 225/55 R16, and 225/60 R15. Tyre sizes vary not only between different models but also between body styles. For instance, the BMW E39 Touring 520i (100 kW) is fitted with 205/65 R15 tyres, while the Sedan 540i (210 kW) uses 225/55 R16 tyres.
Optional tyre sizes for the BMW 5 Series include: 245/45 R17, 245/35 R19, 245/40 R18, 255/40 R17, 265/35 R18, 275/30 R19, and 275/35 R18. These options allow for enhanced performance and styling customization, catering to a wide range of driving preferences and conditions.
