Continental CrossContact LX Sport

The Continental brand first impressed me when I went for their motorbike tyres. Later it was time to change the car tyres. After a long search and setting increasingly narrow criteria (beware of the classification of this tyre), I decided to go for LX Sport. Impressions? Incredible. On a dry road, the tyre goes where the driver's eyes cannot see, like on rails. On a wet road: I never had better tyres, and I've probably already used 7 different sets, always new. The car drives confidently, doesn't lose grip and is incredibly efficient at braking. But there is a price to pay. Let me put it this way: if this tyre costs up to €300/piece, it is worth having, considering the peace of mind and safety. The only drawback is the durability of the tyre: it wears out quite quickly, but I drive quite aggressively, and it's no longer clear whether the durability of the tyre is proportional to its driving characteristics. This is the second Continental model for SUVs. I drive very fast, sometimes I brake at higher speeds - everything is fine, no problem. In the worst roads it behaves ok, in the city it is very good, when I leave a paved road - nothing bothers me. The only drawback I noticed is that if there is a lot of water on the road the car loses grip (with common sense, of course, drivers are stable in such a situation and can handle aquaplaning), but on the other hand, I didn't have the tyres that would be perfect in such a situation. The tyre fully meets my expectations. I drive a Volvo XC70 and I expect nothing less than comfort and reliability from my car. With these tyres, it has never let me down, never lost grip or buried itself. I don't drive extremely fast on asphalt or over particularly difficult terrain, but in normal conditions the tyre is great. The tyre has a siped tread and the M+S label, so if you don't plan on going to the mountains in the winter, for example, you can safely use these tyres as all-season tyres. Read more Collapse

Having been through several tyre manufacturers I can say with certainty that these are very good tyres. They provide very good steering - by turning the wheel the car goes where the driver wants it to. The comfort of the grip on the holes has improved. They are perfect for a pick-up truck, although the manufacturers could give us a little more. A famous competitor brand (of which I was a loyal follower) to Continental lost a lot in it's quality, that's why I switched to this brand on my pick-up and work vehicles. Read more Collapse

I do a lot of city driving and as far as city driving is concerned, only continental. Perfect grip on dry pavement, very good water discharge on wet pavement and good cornering grip. In addition, wear resistance is 5+. Read more Collapse

I drive a lot on unpaved roads and was looking for a tyre with a tread that would bite into the road and the Conti met my requirements. Excellent off-road tyre which is also quiet on off-road commutes. Read more Collapse

I rate it a 5 because I can't find a better tyre from Continental. It is comparable to the Michelin, but rubs off quickly. It is a hard tyre but very comfortable and safe. Read more Collapse
