Continental WinterContact TS 850 P

It’s the first time I purchased Continental tyres because their products are usually very expensive. I used to drive on Nokian tyres. They were worse in wet weather. I also had Michelin Alpin tyres, quality of which was rather average. The last tyre I tested was the Pirelli Sotto Zero which was very good. I’m driving a Toyota Avalon Limited, 3.5l. engine, 278 BHP and decided to buy a set of the Continental TS850 tyres. I must say, I’m impressed. The tyres are superb in wet conditions. Their performance in snow is simply sensational. They provide excellent grip even if you have a powerful car. The tread pattern is interesting. I’m shocked how comfortable these tyres are. In my opinion, these tyres represent great quality and marvellous performance. It’s not my first set of Continental tyres but the first winter one. I used to buy only summer tyres from this manufacturer. Now it’s time to test one of their winter products. I feel confident and comfortable, especially on wet or muddy roads. The tyres are perfect! I would like to recommend Continental tyres to everybody. This is one of the best manufacturers in a premium segment. Top quality, good grip. I can’t say a bad word about the 850 P model. I was positively surprised by their performance. They behave well so I will buy them again. The braking distance is surprisingly short and, what’s important, equal in all conditions. Another set of these tyres and, as always, no disappointment; on the contrary, they’re excellent and the only ones I’d recommend. This winter, during the 15th anniversary season, they haven’t let me down once. Of course, there’s no sure-fire solution for black ice, but I think these Continentals have saved the car from a collision on more than one occasion, despite Audi’s advanced systems. From my personal point of view, these are the best winter tyres available on the market for the last two years. I had one of the latest summer models of Continental tyres mounted on my 4x4 Mercedes GLK, E46, 330, rear wheel drive. The second set was fitted to my VW Polo GTI, front wheel drive. The last winter was very mild so I had to wait until early March for the first snow. I tested these Continental tyres and must admit that they improved handling of my BMW MX5 not only in snow but on dry and wet surfaces as well. The tyres are brilliant. Premium range, not cheap, but safety is paramount. The tyres have lasted the whole season on various surfaces and roads. From motorways to gravel roads, on dry, wet and slippery surfaces with slush and ice. There wasn’t a single moment where I lost control. I’d give them a 5+. Read more Collapse

Always bought expensive car tires that rode. This former Michelin, Good Year, Pirelli, Yokohama, were very good Pirelli Sotto Zero (like new because after they were torn off) but these Continental are great because now I drive a Toyota Avalon Limited 3.5 286km gasoline and even belts do not break the acceleration. I was hoping for a more comfortable driving in snow, particularly "heavy" thaw. Too often, even a slight deceleration turns my abs. Water pipe - very comfortable. Aquaplaning absolutely sporadic. Dry surface - perfect. I feel that more freezing - this tire is better. Read more Collapse
