The Hyundai Veloster is a sporty coupé produced by the South Korean automaker Hyundai. This model is the production version of the concept unveiled in 2007 and serves as the successor to the discontinued Tiburon Coupé. One of the Veloster’s most distinctive features is its unique door configuration: a single large door on the driver’s side and two smaller doors on the passenger side, giving the car an asymmetrical profile.
The Veloster’s exterior design is dynamic and aggressive, characterized by pronounced fenders, a low roofline, and sharp body lines. The sleek, angular headlights evoke the look of a predatory animal, while the high-mounted rear bumper features an integrated faux diffuser and a centrally positioned exhaust tip. The sporty appearance is completed with 18-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the cabin design mirrors the car’s bold exterior. Inspired by sport motorcycles, the interior features a driver-focused layout with high-quality materials. Despite its sporty nature, the Veloster offers a good level of standard equipment, including automatic climate control and fully electric windows.
Under the hood, the Veloster is powered by a 1.6-liter GDI engine producing 140 hp. This impressive output from a naturally aspirated engine is achieved through the use of CVVT (Continuously Variable Valve Timing) and direct fuel injection. A high-performance turbocharged version with over 200 hp is expected to launch in 2013. Power is delivered to the front wheels via either a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed dual-clutch automatic.
The factory tyre size for the Hyundai Veloster is 215/45 R17.
Optionally, 215/40 R18 tyres can be fitted.
