VW Tiguan

The Volkswagen Tiguan is a modern compact SUV that made its global debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2007. Its name, a blend of "tiger" and "iguana," was selected through a reader poll conducted by the German magazine Auto Bild, symbolizing the vehicle’s dynamic yet versatile character. Positioned as the successor to the VW Golf Country, the Tiguan complements the slightly larger VW Touareg in Volkswagen’s growing SUV lineup. Under the hood, the Tiguan offers a range of efficient engines: three petrol options (1.4 TSI R4 150 HP, 2.0 TSI R4 170 HP, and 2.0 TSI R4 200 HP) and two diesel variants featuring advanced Common Rail technology (2.0 TDI R4 140 HP and 2.0 TDI R4 170 HP). These engines deliver smoother performance, reduced noise and emissions, and improved thermal efficiency, ensuring compliance with the stringent Euro V emissions standards. For enhanced traction and stability, the Tiguan is equipped with Haldex all-wheel-drive technology. This system intelligently distributes torque between the axles, transferring up to 100% of engine power to the wheels as needed based on driving conditions. Inside, the Volkswagen Tiguan offers a spacious and comfortable cabin. A flexible seat-folding system allows for the transport of items up to 2.5 meters in length, with a maximum luggage capacity of 1,510 liters. Safety is a key strength, with the model earning a five-star rating in Euro NCAP crash tests. The Tiguan is available in three trim levels: Trend & Fun, Track & Field, and the premium Sport & Style. From the factory, the Volkswagen Tiguan is equipped with 215/65 R16 or 235/55 R17 tyres. Optionally, it can also be fitted with 235/50 R18 tyres.
