The company's history dates back almost a hundred years, during which time it has evolved to become part of the Continental AG group in 1992. Motoring enthusiasts may also be familiar with the Barum Rally, a series of races on asphalt tracks around the town of Zlin in eastern Moravia. In 1999, the winning driver was Janusz Kulig from Poland.

Opinion from outside IE
Having had a number of cars on different tyres in my history, I was really pleasantly surprised again by Barum. This is the second time I've decided to buy this model after the Debica, only I've changed to a lower profile i.e. 45. I was a bit worried that it would be noisy and all the bumps on the road would be heard in the cabin of the car, but I'm positively surprised. The tyres are quiet, soft in relation to the low profile. There is no audible noise despite the size and small car that is the Fiesta. I would also say that I have found them much better to drive on in the wet than in the dry. I have not yet had a safety failure with these tyres. I think the tyres have an ideal price/quality ratio. Good tyres given they are economy class. Very quiet, despite being a budget tyres they perform as mid-range class tyres. Good wet grip as well as dry grip.... I would recommend to anyone who wants good quality tyres at a reasonable price. Read more Collapse
