Kumho KU39 - User reviews

My tyres are for 19" wheels on a heavy well powered BMW so I cannot afford to put anything other than high performance tyres on the car. High Performance high brand name tyres in 245 and 275 are going to be ridiculously expensive. Kumho however provide the high level of performance required at low to mid level pricing which is what I or anyone should want I think anyway. I have now bought 9 Kumho tyres 5 for my BMW and 4 for my Toyota MR2. The MR2 had a cheaper tyre on it that was all over the place partcularly in the wet. The KUMHO has fixed that problem entirely. Kumho the guy that fitted them for me said Kumho are the best kept secret in the tyre business.

I would say that this is a mid range tyre, its not top of the range but personally it performs just as good if not better than some at the topoint of the range (Continental Sport Contact) The ride quality seems to be very good given these tyres are fairly low profile and coupled with sports suspension you can espect some discomfort on rougher roads but it's not the least bit unbearable. The tyres perform well in all conditions aside from snow which I have not had the chance to drive them but I will have by then switched over to winter tyres. They grip perform flawlessly on dry tarmac and very well in heavy rain, wind and even sleet, the same can be said when braking harshly, they do not seem to loose any grip, wet or dry, taking corners at speed wet or dry doesn't seem to bother them either. I work in mobile Security ND I'm covering anything up to 500 miles per week, they tyres do not seem to have lost very much in tread but I do have my vehicle tracking and balance checked regularly (2-3 months) They look very nice and sporty and they clean up well using Autglym Tyre Dressing. All in all I would highly recommend these to anyone, they are fairly cheap I think I paid around £60 per tyre. They look good they perform excellently can't go wrong with Kumho, will most likely buy the same again.

These tyres have performed well in all conditions (except snow and ice when I fit my wheels and winter tyres instead) and for the price they represent excellent value for money. They are as good or better than all other brands i've tried on Alpins and I certainly again in the future.

you do not want to buy Chinese tires and do not want to overpay for the "brand" is a sensational choice, the only minus is that they are difficult to put in the XL version of the 18" wheel, but it may be the fault of the workshop or equipment ...

Kumho is a real candidate to be a premium brand. They are quiet, safe and after using them for quite a time, there is virtually no wear present. I have traveled for around 7000km and wore only a few tenths of a millimeter of tread. The only downside would be a bit unattrac-tive design. I drive moderately on an automatic transmission and have 150hp and Kumho KU39 fit just fine. I recommend them.
