Kia Rio

The Kia Rio debuted in 1999, initially offered as a compact city estate or saloon. The second generation, introduced in 2005, came in both hatchback and saloon variants. In 2011, the third generation was launched, designed by the brand’s chief designer, Peter Schreyer. He also created the current, fourth-generation Kia Rio, in production since 2016, which is available exclusively as a 5-door hatchback.

Original Kia Rio Wheels

The first and second generations of the Kia Rio were originally equipped with 14-inch steel wheels. The third generation came with either 14- or 15-inch steel wheels, as well as 15- or 17-inch alloy wheels. The fourth generation is factory-fitted with 15-inch steel wheels or 15-inch to 17-inch alloy wheels.

Which Wheels Fit the Kia Rio?

In most cases, you can install wheels that are slightly larger or smaller than the original ones, as long as they fall within the manufacturer’s recommended specifications for diameter, width, and offset. It’s also important to consider the bolt pattern when selecting wheels.

  • What is the wheel diameter for the Kia Rio?

The first-generation Kia Rio supports wheels ranging from 13 to 16 inches. The second generation accommodates wheels from 14 to 18 inches. The fourth generation can be fitted with wheels between 15 and 18 inches in diameter.

  • Kia Rio – Bolt Pattern

All Kia Rio models use a 4-bolt pattern with a 100 mm pitch circle diameter. Therefore, wheels marked 4x100 are compatible across all generations.

  • What is the rim width for the Kia Rio?

The maximum compatible rim width for all Kia Rio generations is 7.5 inches. Minimum widths vary by generation: 5.5 inches for the first and third generations, 5 inches for the second, and 6 inches for the fourth generation.

  • What is the wheel offset (ET) for the Kia Rio?

The offset (ET) range differs by generation. For the first generation, it ranges from ET35 to ET40; for the second, from ET28 to ET46; for the third, from ET35 to ET52; and for the fourth generation, from ET35 to ET50.
