Federal SS595

I bought these tyres just because I had to sell my car and I did not wanted to give somebody brand new set of tyres for 3k as a present. Well, it happend that I did not sell my car and I used it foor some time after. My first impression about Federal SS595 was pretty good. Tyres looked quite good and performed nice as well. Especially during driving on dry roads and in not heavy weather conditions. My satisfaction finished with the first stronger rain. When I wanted to turn left my car deicided to go straight. Fortunately it was not in the city and road was empty so nothing really bad happend but after this situation I knew that it is important to drive carefully on them. In simillar time friend of mine purchased different set of Federal tyres. One of them has been damaged badly after few weeks so he bought same one ance again to replace destroyed one. Miracles do not exsist so when I had to buy new set of tyres I had to choose from budget class only. Federall SS595 was the cheapest model and I needed them only for one season. I was prepared for the worst. I was surprised to be honest. Of course the are far away from premium class models but it was not so bad as I expected. Rolling resistance bit high but not as bad. Dry grip is surprisingly nice but wet grip is completely opposite. Impossible to drive fast on them. Enough for every day city driving and nothing more. I think I was positively surprised only becouse I expeted much worst but in fact Federals are not extremly bad. If I will have to buy low price tyres once again most probably I will go for Federal. After 25000 miles I defenietely had to change them. Not so bad score but to be honest I should do it earlier. When I went to the garage they were in shock. Tread disappeared completely. When I saw it I could not belive that I was driving on this. Now I know it is important to check tyre condition in regular basis especially when it comes to budget class. However Federal SS595 performed quite nice on few first months but after that driving comfort and quality collapsed totally. Enough if you need tyres just for some short time. Read more Collapse

Despite many negative reviews I can recommend Federal SS595 with clear conscience. This is my second set of tyres from this manufacturer and once again I am really happy. Low noise level, good grip and traction, nice comfort and of course attractive price. It is irrelevant whether the surface is wet or dry, behaves in a predictable manner and this means security, and yet it is the most important. Read more Collapse

I've been buying these tyres for few years now and had 235 45 17 on an Mitsubishi Evo 9 and without a doubt the best reasonable priced tyre before I downsized to a saab . Federal SS595 offers a lot of fun from driving. I used to have middle class tyres on the same car previously and Federal is on the same quality level. In the same time is much cheaper and this is main advantage. Dry grip is great even during fast driving on some difficult curvy roads. Tyre is a bit stiff so comfort is low but it is not the most important thing for me. Read more Collapse

With low profile tyres as these you need to be extra careful if pot holes are on road. They do slip a bit on wet surfaces but if you drive to road conditions you will have no problem. Great looking tyres. Read more Collapse

Tires behave perfectly! Once I Sava and Fulda. Fulda srdnio exercised enough, while the Sava tragedy! Federal grave with them really sensational! Tire performs well on dry, wet only about 50% of the height of the tread, now I'm 30% of the height of the tread and wet at all does not work, do not vent water. I started as a front in his BMW and I think it would be better to be on the back because of the behavior of the tires on wet roads.
