The Alfa Romeo 159 is a mid-size car produced by the Italian manufacturer Alfa Romeo between 2005 and 2011. Designed by the renowned Giorgetto Giugiaro, its styling pays homage to its predecessor, the Alfa Romeo 156, while introducing a more modern and aggressive look. Available in both saloon and Sportwagon (estate) body styles, the 159 was the last model to feature Alfa Romeo’s classic design language before the brand shifted to a new aesthetic direction.
The Alfa 159 stands out with its dynamic, wedge-shaped silhouette that blends sporty aggression with Italian elegance. It features a long bonnet and a steeply raked windscreen, enhancing its athletic stance. One of its most distinctive elements is the headlight cluster, composed of six individual lenses, each equipped with its own washer system.
Inside, the cabin reflects the car’s sporty character. The dashboard is driver-focused, with a clear instrument cluster and numerous real aluminium accents that elevate the premium feel. The build quality is high, and the cockpit layout reinforces the driver-centric philosophy. However, visibility from the driver’s seat is somewhat restricted, and taller individuals (over 190 cm) may find the space a bit cramped.
For performance enthusiasts, the Ti (Turismo Internazionale) package offers a sportier experience, featuring lowered sports suspension and interior trim elements with a carbon fibre-like finish.
Practicality is also considered: the saloon version offers a boot capacity of 405 litres, while the Sportwagon increases this to 445 litres. With the rear seats folded down, the Sportwagon’s load capacity expands to an impressive 1,235 litres.
