The Opel Astra in its fifth generation, designated the K version, was offered from 2015 to 2021 as a C-segment city car. The car, like all previous generations, was available as a hatchback and an estate (both variants were 5-door), and with several gearbox versions, including automatic transmissions (6- and 9-speed), continuously variable CVT units, and manual gearboxes (5- and 6-speed). In 2019, the manufacturer decided to facelift the K version. The changes were very extensive. Attention was drawn, among other things, to the completely redesigned bumper and the changed radiator grille, which significantly refreshed the car’s appearance. Passengers also had no reason to complain about the lack of changes. Inside the car there were refreshed instruments and a new Bose sound system. Due to environmental progress, the car significantly reduced its negative impact on the surrounding environment – the company cut CO2 emissions by as much as 19%. The facelift also included the available trim levels, the number of which was limited to four – Edition, Elegance, Ultimate and GS-Line. Drivers had several diesel and petrol engines at their disposal, with capacities from 1.2 to 1.6 l.
