205/40 R17 tyres are installed in sports cars. The size of the tyre can be seen on its sidewall. It comprises of a string of numbers and a letter which denotes the tyre's type of construction ("R" - radial). The first number informs about the tread width of the tyre and it is provided in millimetres. The second number equals the tyre profile's height and its percentage ratio to the tyre's tread width.
