175/55 R15 tyres are designed for dynamic family passenger cars. The size of the tyre can be seen on its sidewall. It is provided with the help of a string of numbers, e.g. 175/55 R15 (the "R" in the tyre's size denotes its radial construction). The first number expresses in millimetres the tyre's tread width (in this case 175 mm). The second number equals the percentage ratio between the 175/55 R15 tyre's profile height and its tread width, in this case 55% out of 175 mm.
