Audi A5

The Audi A5 is a premium vehicle produced by the German automaker Audi since 2007. Initially launched as a coupé, the lineup expanded in September 2009 to include a five-door Sportback and a convertible version. Built on the third-generation A4 platform, the A5 marked Audi’s return to the coupé segment after the discontinuation of the Audi 80 Coupé in 1996. The A5 features Audi’s Modular Longitudinal Platform (MLP), which supports a front-engine layout with the gearbox positioned just behind the front axle for improved weight distribution. Its design draws inspiration from the Nuvolari Quattro concept car, showcasing sleek, dynamic lines. The Audi A5 and its sportier S5 variant debuted simultaneously at the Geneva Motor Show and the Melbourne International Motor Show on March 6, 2007. Early engine options included the 3.2 FSI V6, 3.0 TDI, and 1.8 TFSI. Depending on the engine and trim, the A5 was available with a 6-speed manual transmission, a 6-speed Tiptronic automatic, a 7-speed S tronic dual-clutch, or an 8-speed Multitronic CVT. The five-door Sportback version was designed to combine the elegance of a coupé with the practicality of a sedan. It features frameless doors and a sweeping roofline that extends to the rear hatch, offering a sporty yet functional design. While it shares much of its styling with the coupé, the interior leans more towards the comfort and layout of the A4, especially in the Sportback variant. In 2010, Audi introduced the high-performance RS5, the most powerful version of the A5 lineup. It featured a naturally aspirated 4.2-liter V8 engine producing 450 horsepower—marking the first time Audi used a naturally aspirated engine in an RS model.

The standard tyre sizes for the Audi A5 are 225/50 R17 and 245/40 R18.
Optional tyre sizes include 245/45 R17, 255/35 R19, and 265/30 R20.
