The Citroën C5 is a D-segment passenger car produced by PSA Group in Rennes, France, serving as the successor to the Citroën Xantia. The first generation was introduced in 2001, initially as a five-door liftback, with an estate version added shortly after. The engine lineup included petrol units with capacities of 1.8L (116 hp), 2.0L (136 and 140 hp), and 3.0L (207 and 235 hp), as well as Common Rail diesel engines: 2.0 HDi (90 and 110 hp) and 2.2 16V HDi (133 hp). Available in both saloon and estate body styles, the second-gen C5 came in four trim levels: Attraction, Dynamique, Confort, and Exclusive. The interior was significantly upgraded with higher-quality materials and improved ergonomics. Standard features included electric windows and automatic air conditioning, enhancing overall driving comfort. Safety was a major highlight, with the C5 earning a full five-star rating in Euro NCAP crash tests, thanks to features such as seven airbags, ABS, ESP, and energy-absorbing crumple zones.
