Opel Insignia

The Opel Insignia is a D-segment passenger car that succeeded the Vectra and Signum in Opel's lineup. Outside of most European markets, it is sold under various names, including Opel Insignia (United Kingdom), Shanghai Buick Regal (China), Chevrolet Vectra (Chile), and Buick Regal (USA). The model officially debuted on 22 July 2008 at the London Motor Show, although a preview had already been given with the GTC concept at the 2007 Geneva Motor Show. From the outset, the Insignia attracted significant attention thanks to its contemporary design and a wide array of advanced technologies. Built on the GM Epsilon II platform, it is larger than its predecessor, the Vectra—54 mm wider, 24 mm taller, and 219 mm longer. The Insignia is available in three body styles: a 4-door saloon, a 5-door liftback, and a 5-door Sports Tourer estate. Engine options include a range of diesel and petrol units. Diesel variants feature 2.0 CDTI R4 Turbo engines with outputs of 110 hp, 130 hp, 160 hp, and a BiTurbo version with 190 hp. Petrol options include R4 engines, both naturally aspirated and turbocharged, with displacements from 1.6 to 2.0 litres and power outputs ranging from 115 hp to 250 hp. A 2.8-litre V6 petrol engine delivers 260 hp, while the high-performance OPC version boasts a 2.8 V6 Turbo engine producing 325 hp. Power is transmitted to the wheels via either front-wheel drive or an advanced all-wheel-drive system with Haldex technology. Inside, the Insignia features premium materials and a flowing dashboard design that seamlessly integrates with the door panels. Notable equipment includes adaptive suspension that adjusts to road conditions and Adaptive Forward Lighting (AFL) with nine lighting modes. In 2009, the Opel Insignia was named European Car of the Year, further cementing its reputation. For those looking to enhance the vehicle’s dynamic appearance, fitting larger wheels and tyres can add a more commanding presence. The Opel Insignia looks particularly striking with 18- or 19-inch alloy wheels.

The factory tyre sizes for the Opel Insignia are: 215/60 R16, 225/55 R17, and 245/40 R19.
