I highly recommend WinterContact tyres, they perform great on both dry and wet roads. They also cope very well with snow and mud, and have never lost traction.

Winter tyres. They were tested by driving in the mountains on a snow-covered road (compacted, slippery snow, roads not cleared of snow). The car stayed on the road and did not skid. No problem driving uphill (others could not drive their cars uphill).

The tyre performs well in winter conditions. Slightly less comfortable with variable grip. After a year of use, it is in very good condition and will easily last a few more seasons.
