The Michelin Group is the largest European tyre manufacturer and one of the world leaders in its industry. The company is famous for innovative solutions and brands that are trusted by customers. The company was established in France in 1889 by Michelin brothers. Currently, the group has as many as 72 production plants in 19 countries (it has been present in Poland since 1994, and its factory is located in Olsztyn). For many years, the company supplied tyres for Formula 1 – it withdrew after the end of the 2006 season.

195/45 R17 tyres are installed in sports cars. The size of the tyre can be seen on its sidewall in a form of a string of numbers and the letter "R" which denotes the tyre's radial construction. The first number informs about the tread width of the 195/45 R17 tyre and it is provided in millimetres. The second number equals the percentage ratio between the tyre's height and its tread width, which equals 45% out of 195.
