215/45 R15 tyres are installed in spots cars. The size of the tyre can be seen on its sidewall. The size label has the form a string of numbers (the "R" in the tyre's size denotes its radial construction). The first number expresses in millimetres the tyre's tread width (in this case it equals 215 mm). The second number equals the percentage ratio between the tyre's height and its tread width. In the case of the 215/45 R15 tyre it is 45% out of 215 mm. The last number constitutes the diameter of the wheel rim (provided in inches) on which the tyre should be installed.
